Most hearing aids are available in multiple technology levels. After your evaluation, we’ll help you choose the model and level suited to your needs. Hearing aids from our office include five years of professional care at every level.
Care for the hearing aids you already have
We clean, troubleshoot, program and repair hearing aids from most major manufacturers, including those fitted by another provider.
- Step 1Clean and check
We clean your hearing aids, replace domes and wax guards as needed, and check for issues affecting performance.
- Step 2Repair
We complete repairs in our office when possible. If factory service is needed, we coordinate repairs with the manufacturer.
- Step 3Reprogram
We use your hearing test results to adjust compatible hearing aids to your needs. If your devices have limitations, we explain them and discuss your options.

Are hearing aids worth it?
For many people with hearing loss, hearing aids make it easier to follow conversations, enjoy TV and stay connected on the phone. A hearing evaluation helps you understand your hearing and whether hearing aids could help.
How do I know if I need hearing aids?
Common signs include asking people to repeat themselves, turning the TV up, finding phone calls hard and feeling tired after conversations in noisy places. A hearing evaluation helps determine whether hearing aids are appropriate for you.
Should I get an invisible hearing aid?
Invisible-in-canal (IIC) hearing aids sit deep in the ear canal for a discreet appearance. Whether they’re suitable depends on your hearing loss, ear anatomy and the features you want. We’ll help you compare styles after your hearing evaluation.
Are hearing aids waterproof?
Water protection varies by model. Many hearing aids are water-resistant, but you should follow the manufacturer’s guidance for bathing, swimming and moisture exposure. We’ll explain the care instructions for your devices.
How long do hearing aids last?
Many hearing aids last around three to seven years, sometimes longer with regular cleaning and maintenance checks. If yours are getting older, we can evaluate them and discuss whether a repair or new hearing aids makes more sense.
What about AirPods or over-the-counter hearing aids?
Over-the-counter hearing aids are intended for adults 18 and older with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. Certain AirPods Pro models offer a hearing aid feature for the same group, with a compatible iPhone or iPad. A hearing evaluation helps you compare your options. Hearing aids from our office include professional fitting and ongoing care.
Do hearing aids help with background noise?
Many hearing aids have features that can make speech easier to follow in noisy places. No hearing aid removes background noise completely. Careful programming and verification with Real Ear Measurement help us tailor amplification to your hearing needs.

Can I travel with hearing aids?
Yes. Pack the charger or spare batteries, the cleaning kit and a drying case if you're going somewhere humid. Before a long trip, you can call us to book a check.
Do younger people wear hearing aids?
Yes. Hearing loss can affect adults of any age. Toni, one of our Hearing Aid Specialists, has worn hearing aids since childhood and can talk with you from her own experience.
Does insurance cover hearing aids?
Some insurance plans help cover part of the cost of hearing aids, and coverage varies from plan to plan. We accept many insurance plans. Bring your insurance card to your hearing evaluation, and we'll check your benefits for you.
What if my hearing aids won't turn on?
For rechargeable models, check that the charger has power and the hearing aids are seated correctly. For models with disposable batteries, try fresh batteries. If they still won’t turn on, contact our office. We’ll assess the problem and explain whether it can be resolved here or requires manufacturer service.
